Redwine Church History

W. E. (Buck) Redwine, for whom the church was named, gave forty acres of
land on which the first church was built. Old Redwine Camp Ground is
remembered by relatives of Civil War Veterans as a recruiting place during the
war. In 1861, company D of the 27th Regular Georgia Volunteer Infantry was
organized at Redwine. In 1891 the second church building was constructed.
The arbor that stands on our grounds today is the third one that has been built.
In 1974-75 the present church complex was renovated and enlarged. More
Sunday School rooms, a new fellowship hall and other facilities were added at
this time.
Our desire at Redwine is to share the life-changing message of the Gospel of
Jesus Christ with our neighbors throughout the South Hall community. We
attempt to do this through a wide variety of ministers and services. The church
sponsors and provides meeting facilities for various scouting and community
groups, maintains a food pantry for the needy, and operates the Redwine
Summer Program for approximately 300 children youth.
Sunday Worship Services and held at 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. and there are
Sunday School classes for all ages. There is a supervised nursery available
during worship services. Opportunities for Christian growth, fellowship and
services are available for all ages from the very young to the very old. We know
that helping people decide to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and to join the
church is only the beginning of a lifelong process. We realize that we must
continue to develop, support, and nurture each other as we grow in Christian
discipleship, Redwine Church has a proud heritage and an exciting future…
come grow with us!
