| Excitement continues to build as we move closer to a new building at Redwine UMC. On May 4th and 7th the Building Committee will host an information and answer session. You should have received a letter from Gene Roberts, our committee chair explaining some of the information. Let me briefly share where we are going: We are looking at continuing to use the present classroom building and make some minor repairs and improvements. This would continue to be our office area plus our adult education area. We will look at changing the Fellowship Hall into a permanent classroom that will include our space for our children from birth forward. When you look at the plans the number in parenthesis is the number of people/children that class will hold. There will be 9 new classrooms with a total capacity of 124. The new building we will propose will be our new fellowship hall and multispace building. This will give us enough room for dinners of 224 or for a gathering area of 400. By looking at this phase we will save over $600,000 versus the original plan. This enables us to meet our goal sooner and build faster. It will also enable us to have more classrooms, and a new kitchen and more seating for our fellowship times. After the presentation on May 4 and 7 and if there is general consensus of agreement, we will have a Church Conference on May 27th at 7 pm. This will be for the purpose of approving the change. Then when we have collected about $180,000 more we will come back for approval of beginning the actual building. Keep up your prayers, commitments, and participation. I look forward to hearing your response and input. I am getting really excited I can almost see the dirt being dug up and the footing poured. 2 Samuel 7:27-28 ---Pastor Michael Pinson |
